Essay

Objects: magneto-optic and magnetic properties of non-centro-anti-symmetrical antiferromagnets. Goals: experimental discovering, investigation and application of the new magneto-optic effect - quadratic magnetic gyration. Methods: magneto-optic method - a measuring of angle of rotation of plane polarization of light and specters of circular dichroism at low temperatures and high magnetic fields. New results: The new magneto-optic effect - quadratic magnetic gyration is discovered and investigated. The effect in transparency is quadratic magnetic rotation of polarization plane of light and in an absorption is a phenomenon of the even magnetic circular dichroism. Employment: the new magneto-optic effect can be used for investigation of properties of magnetically ordered crystals. Introduction: the results are important for further development of physics of magnetism.
