Research of the chronicle of Polish poet and historian Vespasian Kochovsky as a source in history of Ukraine of the middle and the third quarter of the XVIIth century and a monument of a Polish historiography. Methods: historical-genetic, historical-comparative, synchronous, reconstructive. The informative abilities of the chronicle for study of the events of Ukraine in second half of the XVIIth century were defined, Kochovsky's world outlook and pecularities of the historical conception of "Polish annals" were analysed. Efficiency of implementation: source study and historiography researches, lectures.
