Essay

The dissertation deals with a comprehensive study of the language of international agreements. The work provides some insights into semantic structure, pragmatic as well as stylistic functioning of terms, terminological word-combinations and special vocabulary of these instruments. An attempt has been made to spot a number of lexical peculiarities which are characteristic of the language of international agreements on the morphоlogical, semantic, syntactic, stylistic levels and also in cognitive and functional perspectives. A special attention has been paid to the main peculiarities of discoursal features in three segments of these international legal-political instruments. A thorough analysis of the cognitive structure of the main provisionary clauses of international agreements has also been conducted.
