The dissertation deals with the problem of a headmaster's motivational sphere impact upon school management. the manifastation peculiarities of different kinds of activities in the process of managerial functions realisation depending on the type of management motivation as well as a complex of behavioural outward indicators adequate to different types of school headmaster's motivationn for inserviice training have been identified. The recommendationns have been worked out on the diagnosis of in-serviice training motivation type and on the distribution of school headmasters as retrainees in accordance with the indicators for projected professional-cognitive activities. The school headmasters as retrainees typology is substantiated on the basis of severalised levels of professional-cognitive activities. the principal reseach results may be utilised for the introduction of school headmasters' differentiated instruction into the in-service training in order to substantially enhance the efficiency of training due to accounting of peculiarities of motivation for the perfection of managerial activities.
