Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the study of psychological characteristics of the managers of Public Health institutions of different duties and determining of psychological factors which supply the success of administrational activity. It was fixed that administrational activity at different levels make big demands on psychological qualities of the manager and due to this fact psychological portraits of the chief doctors, their substitutes and heads of the departments have specific peculiarities. Personal deformations of 2 types are formed under the influence of the demands of administrational and professional (medical) activity: those which are conductive to the success of administration if meet necessary requirements; or stand in the way of it if personal characteristics of the manager are not conductive to the demands of administrational activity. Revealed 5 factors supply the success of administration, besides the directions of the selective improvements and training of administrative staff in thebranch were also determined. Expediency of used methods were demonstrated in the research as well as possibility of their use in selecting of medical institution managers of different administrative levels. A number of measures was proposed for improving the system of selection and training of administrative staff at different levels of Public Health system.
