12 patients were undergone amputations and reamputations of crus by Bier method using an external fixation apparatus. Purpose - elaboration of method of stable transosteal fixing and compression of bone autograft on nourishing leg to saw cut of cannon bones for amputations (reamputations) of crus by Bier method in order to decrease time of functionally enduring stump formation and medico-social rehabilitation. Methods - clinical, radiological, statistical, histochemical, morphological. The experiment executed on dogs showed that synostosis between cannon bones occurred on the 60th day after the amputation and appeared as an initial coalescence, while in control group the coalescence occurred on the 90th day, therefore the difference between experimental and control groups equals to 30 days. A method and a device for stable osteosynthesis are developed. Proposed technique of fixing of bone autograft on nourishing leg to saw cut of cannon bones with the help of needles with retaining flanges in externalfixation apparatus for amputations (reamputations) of crus by Bier was implemented in clinical practice (12 patients were undergone an operation) and synostosis was formed for 45-60 days that facilitate formation of painless and wellsupporting stump, that was proved clinically and radiologically. This implementation enabled to make a prosthetic appliance after 1,5-2 months of an amputation while according to the literature this period lasts 6 months and more for classical method. The results were implemented in clinical practice of traumatological wards of Zaporizhia and Dnipropetrovs'k. Traumatology and Orthopedics.
