The present theses are dedicated to realizing genre evolution and the peculiarities of E. Zola's little prose. The theses prove that in Zola's little prose it is possible to see the elements not only realism all the more naturalism but romanticism, symbolism, impressionism, - the writer practically overcame the contraction of his naturalistic doctrine. E. Zola's individual style was not elective at all but composed the aesthetic achievements of the XIX-th century.
