Object of research - process of the economic substantiation of the innovation projects. Research purpose - further development of theoretical bases and development of the methodical recommendations for the economic substantiation of the innovation projects. Methods of research: formal and dialectic logic, qualitative analysis and synthesis, system approach, forecasting, economic-mathematical modeling and financial mathematics. Theoretical and practical results: the scientific-practical toolkit for a solution of the complex of problems in the economic substantiation of innovations, using of which promotes increase of quality of administrative solutions, is generated. Novelty: the innovation process's scheme, more completely uncovering its essence and permitting precise to differentiate such categories as "novelty", "novation" and "innovation", is integrated; the new approach to the substantiation economically of expedient duration of innovations' using is offered; the methodical recommendations for optimization of financing conditions of the innovation projects, permitting to generate effective debt policy, to reveal inadmissible hazardous projects, and also to agree interests of the enterprise - innovator and external investor; are developed; the economic-mathematical apparatus of program shaping of the innovation projects, methodical bases of account and using of separate estimated parameters is advanced; a role, place and contents of the economic substantiation of innovations during their motivation are rendered concrete. Degrees of introduction - the elaboration's are used by Leading Department of economy of Donetsk regional state administration, Subsidiary "Dzerjinskekoenergoresurs" of LLC "PES "Gorenergo", Joint-Stock Company (close type) "Radoncoke", Joint-Stock Company (open type) "COF "Kalininskaya" and Donetsk national technical university.
