Structure, state in solution and some functional possibilities of graft copolymers based on chemically complementary poly(vinyl alcohol) and poly(acrylamide) with different quantity of grafts were investigated. It was shown that these copolymers are intramolecular polycomplexes stabilized by the system of hydrogen bonds. Redistribution of intramolecular H-bonds is a major factor for structure changes in graft copolymers at grafts alteration. It was shown that graft copolymers of poly(acrylamide) to poly(vinyl alcohol) are effective flocculants. A new approach for establish the cause of high flocculative ability of intramolecular polycomplexes to polydispersed systems was suggested.
