Essay

The defensin genes expression spectra in malignantly transformed human cells of different histogenesis has been established. It was demonstrated that in A431 and M-HeLa cells hBD-2 gene expression is induced upon challenge of growth factors. It is shown that hBD-2 production inhibits the phosphokinase activity of epidermal growth factor receptor.
