Essay

The effect design and service factors on the crack growth kinetics in structural alloys was investigated. It was demonstrated that in the presence of a first portion on the creep crack growth diagram, where the crack growth rate decreases, the crack growth kinetics for the trapezoidal cycle shape can be predicted using linear hypothesis of fatigue and creep crack-growth rate summation and taking into account the initial portion on the creep crack-growth diagram.
