Essay

The object of research is the processes of social, political and spiritual life in Russia of late 40th - early 80th of the 19th century. The aim is to make an all-embracing analysis of reformative conception suggested by K. D. Kavelin. The methods, used in this thesis, are ideographic, synchronous, historio-comparative and historio-typological. The Kavelin's project of peasant, political-administrative, university reforms were investigated in this scientific work. The Kavelin's modernization program, which was based on liberal platform, contains a lot of useful for modern reformers suggestions.
