Essay

The morpho-functional adaptations to different oviposition types in Odonata was studed. It is reported that zygopteran endophytic ovipositor is considered as most ancient. The tables of morphological features of ovipositor are completed. The redevelopment of genital segments in different stages of onthogenesis is studed. The classification of patterns of damselfly egg-sets laid in plant material is proposed. Experimental research supports the hypothesis that styli of ovipositor parcipate in the control of egg line and egg patterning in the clutch.
