Khalyavka T. The photocatalytic activity of titanium dioxide modifications

The object is processes photodestruction and photoreduction of toxic model substances in the presence and absence of TiO2; the aim to elucidation the influence of different factors on TiO2 photocatalytic activity; the methods are roentgen phases, electron-diffraction, neutron-diffracted, electronomicroscopical investigation, chemical-spectral, IR and Raman spectroscopy; the new approach lies in systematically investigation of influence of crystalline structure, specific surface, sorption properties, phase composition optically pure TiO2 on its photocatalytic properties on example of reactions of photoconversion of toxic compounds; results - the UV irradiation of water solutions of toxic substances in the presence of investigated samples ofTiO2 results in destruction of this substances that can be used for water purification; the fields is chemistry.
