Essay

The dissertation is devoted to studing the metabolic disturbances in Type 2 diabetic women (DW) with different menopausal status and vascular complication degree. The work is aimed on determining the dynamics of oxidative stress and lipid profile parameters in DW under conventional therapy and combined with antioxidants. By clinical, biochemical, radioimmunological methods using spectrophotometer, gammacounter it was revealed in DW with insulin resistance (a) the dominant significance of dyslipidemia vs hyperglycemia for oxidative stress genesis, (b) the pathogenic role of the last in lost of оestrogens favourable impact on metabolic risk factors for atherosclerosis (dyslipidemia, lipid oxidation) and (c) vitamins E+C therapeutical efficacy. There were determined pathogenic mechanisms of metabolic risk factors for angiopathies development in Type 2 DW. The results may be used for DW treatment and in lecture courses at medical educational infatuations.
