Gubanova O. Diagnosis, clinical manifestation and treatment of abnormal mesial shift of the maxilla in children.

The thesis has investigated the peculiarities of the first permanent molars shift in case of the dental arch abnormalities and proved the opportunity of application of the molar mesial rotation symptom as a prognostics and diagnosis criterion of the abnormal mesial shift of the upper lateral teeth during the mixed and permanent dentition. The study of dynamics of malocclusion, dental arches and some teeth for the occurrence of the premature loss of primary teeth and normal dental arches has been made. An extent of abundance of the mesial rotation in various malocclusion appeared to be the highest in case of the distal occlusion combined with the cross-bite, given the narrowing maxilla arch. The developed methods and patterns of the malocclusion treatment with an abnormal mesial shift permit to reduce the number of extractions, the amount of complicated occlusions, to select treatment volume, orthodontic apparatuses more differentially.
