Stepanenko N. Improvement of criteria of selection signs evaluation in egg and meat poultry farming

Scientific novelty of the results obtained lies in the fact that a comparative models estimation, growth and egg production indices determination has been made for hens of different productivity lines. This is the first time models components (kinetic and exponential growth speeds) for the poultry of the world's best gene pool have been specified. It is shown that the Bridges model and its modifications can be used both for description and prediction of live weight and egg production. Their application ensures a high description and prediction precision (deviation in theoretical values and values obtained does not exceed the 5 per cent value judgment limit about the accuracy of results). Expediency of using growth intensity indices for predicting egg production on the basis of the data obtained during the first three-four tracking months is substantiated. Modifications of the Bridges and McNally models ensuring estimation precision at 0.98-0.985 have been developed. Practical value of the results is inthe possibility of applying parameters of mathematical models and growth indices in an accelerated selection of valuable genotypes in early ontogenesis.
