The object is silica powders formation from ethyl silicate gels; the purpose is the elaboration of silica fillers with dispersity 5-10 mcm for stomatologycal plastic masses with refraction index given in interval from 1,48 of 1,51 with a step 0,01; the methods are complex of physical-chemical analyses' methods; the new approach concerns with such aspects: the influence of water and ethyl groops clusters on the refraction indexes of silica powder has been established, the mechanism of opal formation and its influence on SiO2 crystallization has been studied, the possibility of powder refraction index regulation by the way of directed synthesis of cryptocrystalline phase which is characterized by high direfraction has been established; the results are the silica filler for stomatologycal plastic masses with given refraction index in interval from 1,48 of 1,51 and with 5-10 mcm particles size has been elaborated; the experimental batch of compositional materials has been produced; the sphere of utilization is the filler for stomatologycal plastic masses
