Essay

A considerable part of the tractive rolling stock in Ukraine has expired its specified service duration and due to the standards that exist it must be ruled out of operation. Taking into account that at present there are no qualitatively new designs of advanced locomotives, the solution of problem of providing the operating performance of the tractive rolling stock consists in the prolongation of its service duration. Besides, in Ukraine there is no a modern standard basis for a scientific justification of the problem of service duration of the tractivе rolling stock. The purposes of the given work are a scientific justification of extra-standard operation of supporting structures of the tractive rolling stock bogies with the expired service duration and improvements in the methods of experimental estimation of their fatigue resistance characteristics. In order to achieve the investigation purposes, the conditions of tractive rolling stock in Ukraine have been analyzed and the necessity of its operating life prolongation has been proven on example of passenger electric locomotive ChS 4 (ЧС 4). Items of a concept of prolongation of service duration of supporting structures of the tractive rolling stock have been listed and the ways of prolongation of their operating life have been developed. Analysis of mathematical models of fatigue resistance of supporting structures has been conducted and the model suitable for use as basic one in the development of domestic standard basis has been chosen. The technique of accounting the deviation of fatigue resistance limit of supporting structures of bogie frames during their vibration rig trial testing has been developed. The residual operating life of bogie frames of passenger electric locomotive ChS 4 has been studied and the way of prolongation of these frames service duration has been chosen.
