The determinants of right ventricular dysfunction, their prognostic significance were established in patients with acute myocardial infarction. The criteria of captopril efficacy were worked out, depending on the type of myocardial dysfunction and ventricular interaction. In 87 % of patients with acute non-complicated left ventricular myocardial infarction the signs of right ventricular diastolic dysfunction were revealed. The possibility of prediction of the course of myocardial infarction based on the initial Doppler echocardiographic parameters has been shown. The efficacy of captopril has been proven, especially in left ventricular restrictive filling pattern, pseudonormalized right ventricular filling, and in pulmonary hypertension.
