Essay

Methods for the preparation of amino acids. The elaboration of methods for the preparation of racemic and optically active b-amino acids. Chemical synthesis, NMR spectrometry, chromatography. Methods for the synthesis of racemic and optically active b-amino acids were elaborated as representative examples. Preparative three-stage strategy for the obtaining of racemic a,a-difluoro-b-amino acids starting from aliphatic and aromatic aldehydes and ethyl bromodifluoroacetate has been proposed. Biocatalytic method for the preparation of enantiomeric b-amino acids through enzymatic resolution of their N-phenylacetyl derivatives by penicillin acylase has been elaborated.
