Essay

The thesis deals with development and research of the structures of transformable folded vaults made of sickle-like folds. The design procedure for an analysis of such structures is under construction. Experiments results obtained at laboratories and under natural conditions using models and full-scale tests along with a comparison of experimental data findings and calculations are given also. The efficiency in the use of vaults for vault-type buildings and structures is justified. The aluminium vaults used as an inventory building were introduced in civil engineering too.
