Essay

Dissertation is dedicated to the questions of endovascular treatment of pulmonary artery valvular stenosis with the accompanying narrowings of the right ventricular outflow tract. Immediate and remote results of percutaneous balloon valvuloplasty of the pulmonary artery valvular stenosis performed in the ICVS AMS of Ukraine in 1985 - 1997 are analyzed. Causes of the residual systolic pressure gradient after balloon valvuloplasties are identified. Palliative effect of the use of endovascular treatment of pulmonary artery valvular stenosis with accompanying organic narrowings of the right ventricle outflow tract has been proven. Regression of the functional subvalvular stenoses in the remote postoperative period after percutaneous balloon pulmonary artery valvuloplasty was investigated. Differential diagnostic criteria of the right ventricle infundibular narrowings are improved. The influence of the relative sizes of the applied balloon catheters on the results of the balloon valvulotomies in a differentanatomical forms of the pulmonary artery valve stenosis has been showed.
