Study of low-frequency wave activity in the plasma sheet of the Earth magnetosphere was made using the Interball-1 measurements. Algorithm of automatic search of Pc 5 type wave activity based on correlative technique was proposed. Spectral and physical properties of the waves in the plasma sheet were analyzed. About 300 days of the probe measurements during 1995-2000 years were processed. The results of the study show an evidence of efficient energy transport in the magnetotail due to nonlinear solitary waves and vortices. Similar events were revealed in the Interball-1 data. Theoretical and numerical models of the nonlinear wave structures in the plasma sheet of the Earth magnetosphere were elaborated.
