Essay

The object is the modern musical composition, processes of form creation in the second half of the XX century; the subject is specific features of the system of variants as a writing tech-nique and a music development principle is modern musical composition; the aim is creating the type system of variant forms; the newness and the results - the system of variants as a method of artistic simulation is studied in complex and in de-tails, the variant system criteria, that is its universal model, has been designed and tested experimentally, the compo-sitional principles of the variant form and the character of the variant system interaction with other principles of music development and form creation are shown.
