Essay

The number of new ionochromic compounds: cyanine dyes bases of the quinoline series with 2-oxymethylpyridine fragment, of the 1,10-phenantroline and pirrolo[3,2-h]quinoline series, and the range of merocyanines based on the 8-hydroxyquinoline core substituted by polymethine chromophore at the positions 5 and 7 were synthesized. The influence ofheavy and transition metal salts on the spectral-luminescent properties of obtained compounds wasinvestigated. New preparatively convenient method for preparation of imidazo[1,5- a]pyridines was developed. A number of novel cyanine dyes - derivatives of imidazo[1,5-a]pyridines were synthesized.
