Popadjuk S. The investigations of genetic potential and natural resistance of Gutsul breed of horses

The object of investigation -the purestrain resources of Hutsul breed of horses; aim of investigation - to investigate the area of the breed and to determine the general state of horse-farming in the Carpathian region, to give the zootechnical characteristic of population of Hutsul horses and to determine the criteria for animal selection of desired type, to estimate the adaptative qualities, to examine the resistance and to give the cthologic characteristic to establish the genetic structure of the breed after the polymorphism of erythrocyte antigens, its cytogenetic peculiarities; methods of investiga tion and equipment - zootechnical, immunological, sthological and biometric methods, centrifuge, microscope, refractometre RL-3, FEC, device for electrophorese; theoretical and practical results -the main elements of selection and genetic monitoring were theoretically motivated and introduced into the practice of pure-strain work with the given breed. It enabled to do the goal-directed animal selectionof desired type which is the most snitable for reproduction of pure-strain resources of breed, centrificated as stud reproductor of Hutsul horse breed - the Zolota pidkova - farm; the novelty - for the first time the systemic analyze of pure strain resources of Hutsul breed along with the determination of full-bloodedness of animals after criteria complex; the parameters of animals of desired type after exterior - constitutional and ethological characteristics were determined; the peculiarities of genofund of breed after blood groups were established and its cytogenetic analyze was carried out; by means of results of breed estimation under the usage of biochemical, immunological, hematological investigations the high adaptative ability of Hutsul horses has been determined; the ways of reproduction of breed genofund under the usage of selection and genetic tests have been defined; the level of introduction - the results of investigation were introduced into the Zolota pidkova farm; the field of usage - breeding and selection of Hutsul horses breed.
