Essay

The thesis is dedicated to studying of actual problem of virology - viruses and viral diseases of diseases of black pepper (Piper nigrum L.) in conditions of closed ground, and tropical and subtropical agrocenoses. Results of comparative study of plants grown in closed ground of O.V.Fomin' Botanic Garden (Kyiv) and Nikitsky Botanic Garden (Yalta) with plants of open ground from South Vietnam infected by serologically related viruses TMV, PVX, PVY, PVM and PVS are represented for the first time. Using electron microscopy, filamentous virus infecting black pepper plants (Piper nigrum L.) 700 - 750x11+/-0.3 nm in size was revealed. According to serological and morphological characteristics, the virus relates to representatives of Potyviridae family. Polyclonal antibodies to the virus of black pepper that may be used for diagnostics of viral disease were obtained. Serological relationships among coat protein of this virus and other potyviruses' has been demonstrated, confirming thus results of protein electrophoresis. Methodic approaches for using of chromosome aberrations' technique to study effect of viral infection on cell chromosome apparatus are developed in the work. Mathematical model for prognosing of spreading of viral infection on black pepper plants in conditions of closed and grounds has been created and verified. is.
