Essay

The thesis gives characteristics of principal sucking insect pests and entomophages on stands of sugar beet and its seed bearing plants; dynamics of numbers of these insects in different places of sugar beet growing and dependence of beet plant colonization with beet leaf aphid - which is the main sucking pest on hydro thermal conditions have been shown. It has been established that there is a direct connection between the degree of sugar beet colonization with aphids and conditions for development of the two first generations of this phytophage. When using insecticides for protection of commercial sugar beet fields and seed bearing plants from sucking insects the most efficient and rational method is seed treatment with systemic insecticides, such as gaucho, 70% and cruiser 35% F.S. the efficiency of which against beet aphid is 97.0% and 92,4%, respectively; and also seed bearing plant spraying with lebycide 50% E.C. and with a composition of confidore 20% F.S. and decys2,5 % E.C. which insure the reduction of pest numbers by 93,3% and 91,1% respectively. The efficiency of using insecticides against sucking insect pests greatly depends on their polarity: the higher is the polarity of a chemical substance, the lower is its efficiency against phytophages. Sphere of use - agriculture.
