The object is a chronic inflammatory process in the tissues of the apical periodontium; the aim is a scientific substantiation of the usage of antioxidants in treating patients with chronic apical periodontitis and putting into practice the method of treatment of chronic inflammatory processes in tissues of the apical periodontium by means of medicamentous composition that contains antioxidants; the methods are biochemical, microbiological and clinical methods of investigation; the new approach is firstly proposed the method of influence on chronic inflammatory process in the apical periodontium by means of total combination of antioxidant action remedies (?-carotene, sodium thiosulfate); the main are carried out medicamentous composition with antioxidant contents and investigated its action in 155 patients; all this thesis has been put into practice at the therapeutic departments of stomatologic polyclinics; the field is Stomatology
