Essay

The thesis is dedicated to study of nickel(II) and copper(II) co-ordination compounds with tetradentate open chain ligands of oxime types. The complex formation properties of the chelate ligands with donor set {2N(oxime), 2N(amid)} have been investigated for the first time. The complex formation of nickel(II) and copper(II) ions with N,N'-bis(2-hydroxyiminopropanoyl)-1,2-diaminopropane in aqueous solution has been studied by means of pH-potentiometric titration, electronic and EPR-spectroscopy, the stability constants of the formed complexes have been calculated and their distribution depending on pH are established. The synthetic methods for 15 novel mononuclear and 23 polynuclears co-ordination compounds (including and 6 co-ordination polymers) have been elaborated, the obtained compounds have been isolated in individual state and characterised by the variety of analytical and physico-chemical methods. By means of X-ray single crystal analysis the structure of 3 ligands and 19 complex compounds (including 13 polynuclear) was determined. Study of temperature dependence of magnetic susceptibility of tetranuclear copper(II) complexes was carried out in the range 1,7-300 К. The effect of influence of nature and donor environment of the regulatory metal ion on the value of the redox-potential M3+/2+ (M = Ni, Cu) of the redox-acive centre in the polynuclear compounds has been investigated by means of cyclic voltammetry.
