Essay

It was investigated the volume-activated chloride current in human prostate cancer epithelial cells. It was reported that calcium-chelating agents produce directly inhibition of current. Extracellular pH and intracellular trypsin effected on amplitude, kinetics and volume-sensitivity of volume-activated chloride current. We conclude that volume-regulated chloride channel possess structural domains that underlying pH-dependence, permeability, volume-sensitivity and inactivation of volume-regulated chloride channels.
