Krokha N. The health status (physical, neuro-psychic and sexual development) of school age children who live in an iodine deficiency region.

The thesis deals with a study of the health status of school age children's in different climato-geographical zones of the Chernivtsi region. It has been established that children who live under conditions of iodine deficiency of the medium degree of severity in all year classes have lover parameters of the body weight and length, the number of children with disharmonious physical development being on the increase. As the degree of iodine deficiency augments the level of intellectual functions decreases. An overall tendency towards a retardation of the sexual development of children from a geoendemic zone of inhabitation is observed. The informativeness of the indices of the physical, neuro-psychic and sexual development of children as possible early markers for ecodependent thyropathies has been proved. The algorithm of active early diagnostics of thyropathies has been brought up-to-date and the therapeutic efficacy of food additives "Elamin" and "Biostar plus spirulina" in children with diffuse nontoxic goiter has been recommended and demonstrated.
