Sklepova A. International investment in the privatization of the strategic enterprises of Ukraine.

In the dissertation the theoretical bases are considered and the practical aspects of the privatization of strategic enterprises are investigated, the economic necessity and expediency of their privatization is developed. The special attention is paid to roles of the foreign capital in this process. The analysis carried out in some countries of the Central and East Europe has shown the foreign capital plays an important role in reforming the national economy including reforms in the process of privatization. The analysis of economic and legal bases of participation of the foreign investors in the privatization of the ukrainian strategic enterprises is done. In order to arouse the foreign investors intense interest in privatization it is offered to use more transparent procedures, to sell the shares of enterprises by large blocks and carry an individual privatization through taking into account the distinctive features of branches. The special attention was paid to the power branch of Ukraine and to the problems arisen during the privatization with participation of foreign investors. The social and economic consequences of increasing the tariffs on electric power according to the requirements of new foreign owners are revealed.
