The object of research - the nominal existential structure There-V-N(mod)-L in Modern English. The aim of research - complex semantic, syntactic and stylistic study of the nominal existential structure in regard to its status in the system of language and functioning in the system of speech. The methods of research - logical analysis, description, syntactic modelling, substitution, component analysis, semantic and contextual analysis, linguostylistic, elements of conceptual analysis. Theoretical results and novelty - building up the conceptual model of the existential structure; determination of the structure's under analysis prototypical and non-prototypical meanings; ascertainment of common and differential features of There-V-N(mod)-L sentences and their semantic correlates; differentiation of linguistic terms "variance" / "variability". Practical results and novelty - can be employed in the courses of Grammar Theory (syntax, semantics), Stylistics of Modern English; in teaching practice; in students' and post-graduates' research works. The object and level of application - practical and theoretical studies in higher educational institutions. The sphere of usage - philology, higher educational institutions.
