Lexico-semantic system of verbs, where 20 semantic subclasses were singled out. The methods are statistical, descriptive, the factor of mutual attendance K, the criterion xi-squared. The analysis of the interrelations between semantic verb subclasses and grammar tenses made it possible to reveal the dependance of English tense form usage upon its semantics. The results of the research can be used in lexicology, stylistics and grammar courses of the English language and general linguistics. The frequency and specificity of verb tense forms in a belles lettres scientific and publicistic functional styles have been investigated. The sphere of appliance: practical English classes at a secondary or higher school.
