Essay

The dissertation studies problems of improving effectiveness of diagnostics and differential diagnostics of chronic colitis and irritable bowel syndrome in children basing on informativeness of clinical, endoscopic, X-ray, laboratory and morphological features. Using mathematical analysis this research accentuates specific and relatively specific clinical and paraclinical indicators for each studied disease. Sequential mathematical analysis, performed for specifying the share of cases of chronic colitis and irritable bowel syndrome, differentiated by the accentuated features, showed that sug-gested criteria of diagnostics and differential diagnostics will result in correct diagnosing in 98±2 % of cases. And this enables to recommend them for practical application.
