Essay

The dissertation is devoted to various manifestations of time in such fields of musical thought as composition, dramatic collisions, resources of rhythm, melody, harmony and so on. It based on M.Heidegger's doctrine ("Time and Being", 1962). Time is conceived as ontological interrelation of Past, Present and Future. This interrelation has 4 principal types (dimensions). These dimensions and their interrelations are also studied on such examples as time features of harmony, texture, and themes from some styles, as sonatas of modern Ukrainian composers V.Silvestrov and Y.Ishchenco.
