Bilas Y. Metropolitan A. Sheptyts’kyj and problems of national liberation movement of Ukrainians.

Dissertation dedicated to the complex research on of the problems of place and role of metropolitan of Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church Andrej Sheptyts’kyj in the national liberation movement of Ukrainians on the first part of XX c. In this this work the author analyses the influence of Chief of UGCC on the theory and practice of national liberation movement from the position of historical method and scientific objectivity for the first in historical religious science of Ukraine. A. Sheptyts’kyj’s outdated approach to German occupation regime is surveyed. The author pays attention to the facts that metropolitan A. Sheptyts’kyj laid the foundations of national Christian political culture, clearly defined the concept of patriotism, principles of public and political duty pointing out their conformity with Christian ethical tradition.
