Essay

The Potato virus M Ukrainian strains (PVM U1 and PVM U7) coat proteins (CP). Localization and characterization of antigenic determinants of the Potato virus M Ukrainian strains (PVM U1 and PVM U7) coat proteins (CP) by using three monoclonal antibodies (MAbs), and also to revealing the features of primary and secondary structures of carlaviruses' CPs. Methods of bioorganic chemistry and biochemistry, multiple alignment of sequences, search of motives in databases of proteins. It was determined that MAbs M6D5 and M9G1 recognize sequentially overlapping antigenic determinants and have the common binding site at the positions 29-35. The contribution of lysine residue in position 35 and asparagine and glutamine acid residues (position 31 and 33, respectively) to interaction of MAbs M6D5 and M9G1 with antigens was established. The general scheme of the secondary structure of carlaviruses' CPs was proposed. Sphere of use - bioorganic chemistry, biochemistry.
