Essay

The dissertation made sophisticated inquiry into methods of influence on public consciousness used in political advertising. More than 300 advertisements of Ukrainian political parties were analysed during the election campaign to the parliament of Ukraine in 2001 - 2002. The conducted analysis proved that both methods of public consciousness manipulation and political technologies as well as methods of influence on audience of commercial advertising were used in political advertising. The methods of influence on public consciousness used by Ukrainian political parties were revealed. The dissertation demonstrated that the most intensive influence on public consciousness was made in advertisements of the following political parties: "SDPU(u)", "Nasha Ukraina", "All-Ukrainian association Zhinky za maibutne", "Yabluko", "Green party of Ukraine".
