Essay

The research of the process of the ozonation of nitrotoluenes in acetic acid has show that introduction toluene molecule of electron-acceptor substitute into benene ring though increases the stability of aromatic zing to attack of ozone, but the reaction of its destructive oxidation remains dominating. Introduction cobalt diacetate into nitrotoluene-ozone-acetic acid system permits practically to stop ozonation of aromatic ring and direct the reaction into oxidation side on methyl group with producing corresponding nitrobenzoic acid. Usind cobalt-bromide catalyst promotes the increasing selective oxidation rate and decreasing catalyst concentration in the system
