Skybun V. The pathogenetic aspects of neuropathic form of diabetic foot therapy

Dissertation is devoted to exploitation of pathogenetically well-founded mode of diabetic foot syndrome treatment on the basis of using ?-lipoic acid (Espa-lipon) in complex treatment of this diabetes mellitus complication. Object: Ulcer necrotic processes in diabetes mellitus. The work is aimed on increasing the efficacy of diabetic foot treatment. Methods and apparatus: Clinical, laboratory, instrumental, immunological; thermovision, Doppler, rheovasography, flow cytometer, enzyme immunoassay apparatus. Theoretical and practical results: Indices of functioning the peripheral nervous system and immune systems in neuropathic diabetic ulcer during ?-lipoic acid treatment were determined. The new: Expedency of including Espa-lipon into complex therapy of diabetic foot was proved. Correlation between therapeutic effect of Espa-lipon connected with T-lymphocytes and natural killers normalization, and its inhibition effect on synthesis of proinflammatory cytokines was established. The level of approach: Results can be used in treating patients with diabetic food syndrome and training specialists-endocrinologists. Field of application: endocrinology, immunology.
