The thesis is devoted to the formation and development of the right to land ownership in Ukraine The historical experience of the right to land ownership development in states that existed on the territory of Ukraine beginning from the existence of the Great Kiev Rus Principality is analyzed and correlated with the concept of the right to land ownership in Ukraine at present. The author has generalized the Land legislation of Ukraine concerning the right to land ownership and its legal regulations. On the basis of the investigation the author givens the definition of the right to land ownership including state, communal and private ownerships, and analyses the process of land ownership reform and privatization of lands after the independence of Ukraine declaration. Some scientific conclusions are made and some recommendations for improvement the Land legislation of Ukraine are given.
