Subject of investigation: patient children with glomerulo- and tubulointerstitial nephritis. Objective of the work: to increase the treatment effectiveness of glomerulonephritis (GN) and tubulointerstitial nephritis (TIN) in children with HSV and HCMV-association on the basis of revealing precise clinical features of the diseases and pathological role of PLO/AOD system disturbances. Novelty: It was established that HSV and HCMV has a role in formation the clinical course particularyties of glomerulo- and tubulointerstitial nephritis in children. The research has revealed that HSV and HCMV play a role in the imbalance of peroxide lipid oxidation (PLO)/antioxidative defence system (AOD) which corresponds to oxidative stress. It was determined, that the development of oxidative stress was caused by HSV and HCMV suppression of antioxidative enzymes (peroxidase, reduced glutathione, catalase), which shows new aspects in the nonimmune pathway of HSV and HCMV-associated glomerulonephritis pathogenesis in children. It was established that disturbances in PLO/AOD system are of diagnostic importance and used as criteria of activity and remmission of glomerulo- and tubulointerstitial nephritis, associated with HSV and HCMV. Practical importance: The results of the research have allowed to define clinical diagnostic criteria of herpes simplex virus and cytomegalovirus infections in children who develope glomerulonephritis, biochemical criteria of the inflammatory process activity using the parameters of peroxide lipid oxidation and antioxidative protection. On the basis of disturbances of PLO/AOP system parameters an additional criteria of the inflammatory process activity is developed in children with kidneys' injury. The received results of the research have allowed to develop a new way of treatment of virus -associated nephritides using virolex and reaferon, which has shown therapeutic efficiency. Degree of introduction:The recommendations, which are developed concerning optimization of diagnostics of nephritides, associated with HSV and HCMV in children and optimization of their treatment, are introduced into practice of profile branches of hospitals of. Kharkov and Ukraine. Field of application:medicine, pediatrics.
