Essay

The Object are quantitative and qualitative changes which have taken place in German abstract lexicon in first half 16-th centuries. It was spent complex analysis of 1050 lexical units and about 3000 separate values. The aims of research are : 1) the method of privative and gradual oppositions is practically applied for identification of abstract lexicon and definition of the abstraction degree; 2) the system of classification of abstract lexicon on a basis of the 8-leveled semantic scale is offered; 3) the level of abstraction in diachrony for separate lexical sets of neologisms of Reformation period, values of the most widespread polysemantic abstract concepts and lexico-semantic system of Early New High German language as a whole is determined; 4) analysed linguistic and extralinguistic factors of process of enrichment of German abstract lexicon in first half 16-th centuries, the main role of individual language creativity of Reformers is determined; 5) The analysis of the usage abstract nouns in texts 1520-1525 is carried out frequency; 6) described the basic word building models and processes of a semantic derivation which promoted development of abstract lexicon, their rate is determined, the interrelation of morphological and semantic means of production of new abstract concepts is analysed; 7) the key role of Early New High German period in formation of the modern dictionary of abstract lexicon of German language is determined.
