Essay

The thesis deals with the ground based and space observations and theoretical modelling of the 5-minute oscillations in the local solar structures - granules, intergranular lanes and sunspots. The magnitude of the line asymmetry due to waves is shown to be compatible with one due to convection in the case of high spatial and temporal resolution observations. The amplitudes of the 5-minute velocity and line intensity oscillations turn out to be larger in intergranular lanes at all heights in the photosphere. The phase of the velocity oscillations changes with height more rapidly in intergranules than in granules. The theoretical modelling of oscillations shows that the observed difference can be caused by the variations of the physical conditions in granules and lanes. A new method is developed to model oscillations in a stratified magnetic atmosphere. It allows including inclination of the magnetic field and its vertical gradient. It is show that a part of the observed magnetic field oscillations in sunspot penumbra are intrinsic oscillations produced by the fast magneto-acoustic mode.
