All the surnames of Zakarpattia with German etymon in the forms that they are registered in writing during 266 years. The aim is to establish the national linguistic belonging of basic stems of Germanic surnames of Zakarpattia and to define presurname semantics of wordforming stems of Germanic surnames of Zakarpattia. They methods used are descriptive, comparative, comparative-historical. German surnames of Zakarpattia have undergone complex investigation for the first time.
