Khaziev V. Local dosage cryoaction for the treatment of diffuse toxic goiter

Object of research: patients with the diffuse toxic goiter (DTG). The purpose of research: increase of efficiency treatment of DTG patients with the help of the developed combined method of intraoperative dosage cryoaction (IDC). Methods of investigations: morphological, immunefluorescent, radioimmunologic, immunologic, and thermographic. For the first time, on the basis of the experimental and clinical data it was developed the pathogenically proved IDC method with the purpose of effective treatment and preventive maintenance of the remote postoperative complications in DTG patients. For the first time there were revealed features of influence of local cryodestruction on ultrastructure of thyrotoxic tissue, that has allowed to fulfill optimum modes to establish laws of medical action and to estimate IDC efficiency. IDC application has allowed to exclude an opportunity of DTG relapse completely, to lower the frequency of postoperative hypothyroidism considerably, and to normalize system of immune supervision during two years. The method is entered into clinical practice of five specialized endocrinological establishments of Kharkov, Lvov, Ternopol. Area of use - endocrinology.
