The dissertation is explores the ways of improving the diagnosis and surgical correction of concomitant squint by means of the thermometric method of evaluating the state of oculomotor muscles. The method of contact thermometry of distal parts of the direct oculomotor muscles in primary position of eyes and when they are turned at 15 degrees has been devised. The study of the results of complex examination and contact thermometry of the direct oculomotor muscles in 26 healthy people and 60 patients with convergent and divergent concomitant squint helped to define the physiological parameters of these muscle's temperature when they are in primary position and during their contraction and relaxation as well as reveal the factors influencing on the temperature of oculomotor muscles in healthy people. The thermosymptoms of disoders in the functional state of medial and lateral direct oculomotor muscles in case of concomitant squint have been determined. The objective thermometric method of diagnosing the functional state of each direct oculomotor muscle separately has been devised.
